A local paper for local people

The New Milton Advertiser is possibly the pinnacle of all things. Its story's are infinitely amusing and have a certain wholeness which is only achieved once one feels so local that they could name every member in the community and gossip willing about what Steve heard off his neighbour. Headlines such as "UPROAR AS NEW HANDRAIL IMPLEMENTED IN SWAY" and "LAWNMOWER MANIAC CUTS ALL GRASS IN BRANSGORE" are commonplace in the Advertiser. Its casual tone and informality cut it finely above all the other "local " papers. Its matter of fact, small town gossip, articles remind us that even in this economic depression, we are still occuping ourselves with all the commotion of nothing.

Only the other week i read an article describing the current state of pony handlement in the forest; unintentionally it managed to raise and solve many issues completely unrelated such as litter management and hit and runs.

I look forwards to some more great news next week, but until then....

NO WINDTURBINE IN SOPLEY!
