Casio Cacophony: The Mothership Has Landed

Few days back i had the privilege of going to Jack's again for another session with the recording contraptions! It was great fun for the both of us and we left with some tracks, I have just made the myspace, check it out and drink down a cool glass of Synth Folk with some hard Casio biscuits on the side.

Computer Anger and Fixed Gears.

Last sunday we left the comfort of Bransgore and decided to head for the hills; they were derelict, and full of hinges, hanging broken objects and post apocalyptic unknown pleasures. We found the remains of an opulent past. Photographic documentation and bike riding lead to roof climbing and skeletal bus happiness. There were vertices and broken keys, crashing noises and fixed gear poises. The rooftop golf and computer anger made Dan crazy. We felt restricted whilst trapped inside a vending machine. Wheels flew and hands flung as bicycles contorted. Fixed gear inclined and angry mind. Computer hatred, keypad naked, all those viruses and letters CTRL ALT DEL! Its all fun at ........ the field of home schooling!

Acousticatorasaur

After writing a few songs for my synth folk project/bathroom gurgle. I decided to revert back to acousticity to see how they would sound on wood and string. To be honest, the lack of feedback and hum sounded better. It is purer. I am desperate to record them, ignoring my computers outdated version of audacity. Myspace too. It will happen, soon/far enough.

I am the operator with my pocket calculator!

Tracklocross Tyrannosaur

Everyday I take the time to ride my fixie, otherwise I go insane and start hitting wooden surfaces with hammers. I strongly believe the ENTYRE world should be riding these things, although most non-cyclists dismiss them as stupid and most cyclists dismiss them as impractical and dangerous. Fixed gear gives you so much less yet so much more. You can have the privilege of riding to a destination at speed and on arrival barspinning yourself silly. Be sure to turn heads and lose all the soft furnishings of your average bike. Beat any xc rider off in the forest, try the odd jump, ride backwards and scare the woman at No.42. Its definitely time to fix up and look sharp!

Its FUNFUNFUN on the Autobahn!

Night Rides

Just a little note about night rides. They are fantastic, especially around the Forest. Out for 2 hours tonight and ate enough mud to drown a hippo. In these coming months will definitely be getting out the big tyres and lights and heading for the hills. Its funfunfun on the Autobahn/Newforest!

Bye for now!

Casio Cacophony

One Man Banned,

Casiotone Conundrum. As a person I am into music rather a lot. I take time to fill my mind with music, whether it be Bert Jansch or Holy Fuck. It seems apt to use my influences to create somekind of synth/folk cross over. I don't think a vast amount of people will listen to it, but i'm giving it a go. At this moment in time I am cramped in my bedroom, tripping over numerous casiotones and a giant harmonium.

So far i've written 3 or 4 songs using the synths. I'm gradually devising a method in which i can transfer between various sounds through a micro mixer i found in the shed. Who knows whether what i'm creating is any good? I am unsure as to where it belongs, but i enjoy playing and singing/shouting it.

Sunday i went round Jacks to have a go with his home studio. Things started off too professional and when the laptop broke, we ended up plugging the desk into a technics tape recorder. Synths emerged and the long lost flanger made the ultimate intro.

Will definitely get some songs together for next time and get them down! Myspace Casio Cacophony future holds=hopefully.

Please tell me what is thought of my musical concept? Also have a listen to my latest Electronica playlist:

Holy Fuck: Super Inuit
Fuck Buttons: Solar Surf
Kieran Hebden: Foals remixes
Kraftwerk: The Model
Hood: Useless

Where is the pinnacle? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Bike Entry No.2

Funfunfun on the autobahn!

Long time no blog.

Thought i'd entice you in with some cold slices of bicycle. Recently i have been reading the work of BLOG KING prolly; a few of the recent entries involving Tom LaMarche (fixed gear man) make me break down in tears. The quality of riding has rocketted to a universal size. I sense times are a changin' In order to improve it takes time and most importantly correct weather. Lately the weather down Bransgore area has been appalling, only last week Waterditch ford could a friend Niall's car. How am i to battle the arctic tundra? and ride my way to sanity? Lets hope it gets better soon. Also check out http://vimeo.com/4162843 its a wonderful video, posted on FIXEDGEARLONDON a while back. Loving the soundtrack and styling. GREAT!

Fix up. Look sharp!

Stornoway = Future

Its not often I discover a band that I feel really captures the times, but I caught the end section of Zorbing by Stornoway and felt inclined to write about how inspiring it was. The folk saturated combination of what has been and what is to come induces a realisation of the present day. Subsequently I took the time to listen to all their recordings. Every single word spoken is audible, the voicing is incredible.

DEFINITELY A BAND TO WATCH,

give it several months and i predict we will be hearing a lot more of this!

Sopley Attitude to Change

"NO WIND TURBINE IN SOPLEY!"

Dan and me went on a cycle the other week through the buzzing metropolis that is Sopley and saw several Badly Printed signs "NO TURBINE!" in various locations around the lanes. They had been implemented to exclaim the villages anger at a person who merely wanted to do the right thing. WHY OH WHY?! Is sopley denying itself a chance of environmental development, WHY is it discarding a valuable opportunity to improve its efficiency?

I will tell you why, change doesnt happen in Sopley, its properties are carved in local stone and cannot be rewritten, people like familiarity, they like knowing that all is silent and unchanged. They are not interested in development, they see any development as a regression, as all is well.

But it doesn't matter because its Doris at number 47 who is going to lose out when electricity bills rocket. She won't be able to religiously watch countdown on her 1983 Panasonic television set bought from Jarvis Radio. She'll learn her lesson, not to be engulfed by the localness.

I had a thought as i rode past the fourth sign...

I could pull out all the signs and replace them with toy pinwheels,
That would rock Doris's chair a bit.
Give her something to tell the committee!

A local paper for local people

The New Milton Advertiser is possibly the pinnacle of all things. Its story's are infinitely amusing and have a certain wholeness which is only achieved once one feels so local that they could name every member in the community and gossip willing about what Steve heard off his neighbour. Headlines such as "UPROAR AS NEW HANDRAIL IMPLEMENTED IN SWAY" and "LAWNMOWER MANIAC CUTS ALL GRASS IN BRANSGORE" are commonplace in the Advertiser. Its casual tone and informality cut it finely above all the other "local " papers. Its matter of fact, small town gossip, articles remind us that even in this economic depression, we are still occuping ourselves with all the commotion of nothing.

Only the other week i read an article describing the current state of pony handlement in the forest; unintentionally it managed to raise and solve many issues completely unrelated such as litter management and hit and runs.

I look forwards to some more great news next week, but until then....

Ralfe Band

http://www.ralfeband.com/
Not many people listen to the ralfe band,
I think they should be played more, check out the website for enticing slices of surreal cake,
I dug out their album the other day after searching for the harmonica, its folksane~! Folk, my dad despises the fact that i like folk, but its one of those things not like marmite but like walnuts, it can be dry or for others; sheer taste! I'm not that keen on walnuts but it was a crap comparison anyway.

Goodnight Blog. Its been a good day,

Happy Sleeping.

BIKE ENTRY NO. 1

Charge Griffin http://www.griffin-studio.com/charge.html,
rather nice, liking the graphics, rather happy, picked up a griffin saddle off ebay for £7 barGAIN!
Will look great on the fixie, although sources tell me that the saddle isnt all that comfy, but who cares?

More: Last weekend had a go at bike polo, a new found piece of excellence. Its great! Moremoremore polo on the way i sense.
ME.

I am not a master of the internet, nor talking about things which matter. but i feel the urge to exclaim my views on nothing and write down whats happening in the box which i am in.

THere are many people in the world who partake in various activities either because they want to or need to. I wake up every morning in order to face the weather and deliver papers to the null bandits of BRANSGORE. i do it out of necessity and because i can. This morning i discovered that the man i had seen everyday for the past year was actually a woman. its things like that that leave me contented. Another thing which makes me content is music. Lately i have listened to a lot of krautrock and early electronic analogue beats. Kraftwerk has saturated the area surrounding my desk, leaving the work and revision coated in a fine layer of static. REVISION! its something i havent bothered with in the past, but since the introduction of mild importance in exams i felt inclined to sit down and fill up my mind with numbers and samples. whilst Still music Still blares out. Its all funfunfun on the autobahn!

Hello Blogger

As I sit in silence listening to Kraftwerk is it evident that time does not exist here at this computer... In my mind I can imagine a crumpled crow riding a pennyfarthing. Am I insane? Maybe. Anyway this is the beginning of potentially millions of words, if I continue with this blog.
